How do architectural forms affect our everyday lives?
OVERVIEW
The project objective was to design a series of posters to promote a lecture series about architecture. For each poster we were tasked to create three experimental type forms using any material of choice to represent our chosen theme.
APPROACH
For this project, I choose to focus on horizontal, vertical and free form lines to suggest architectural planning. I used the words “migrate,” “fuse,” and “rise” to represent how these architectural line directions are associated with our own movement in space. To create a unified poster series, I placed each constructed type in a city of blocks. I hand cut hundreds of block pieces and pasted them together to create varying heights of wood columns.
